Working my way to lion taming via banking

Kaitlyn and I have decided to train for a 50 mile bike race for charity. The race is in Boston during September. Yesterday was the first day of training. We joined a new, amazing gym. It has an indoor and outdoor pool, indoor track, basketball court, four tennis courts, and a ton of machines. Kaitlyn is letting me use her sister's bike for road training days and I bought a pink helmet. I wicked excited to accomplish this goal.

Work at the bank is going well. However, I kinda feel like the accountant in the Monty Python skit that wants to a be a lion tamer. Since, banking is dull. I hope it doesn't make me duller than I already am. ;-)

I am currently reading Crime & Punishment . I thought this classic would be boring, but it's awesome. The original Law & Order set in Russia and told through the eyes of the murderer.

Shane and I celebrated our two year anniversary the 26th. And our relationship is better than ever.

Well I finished my first full week at the bank at the Holden Branch. After the first day they gave me my own cash box, something that most first tellers don't get till a month later. My co-workers are so nice and I can't wait until I work on the desk.

This is my last weekend at the nursing home. I really don't feel too upset about it. I feel rather apathetic towards the place at the moment. However, I will miss the visitors and the residents.

Last weekend, I went to see Shane. And our two year anniversary is coming up this week. :-)

I completed my first full week of training at the Bank. I think I am going to move up quickly in the organization. I am really enjoying living the downtown life for work. I take lunch with the other girls and wear business attire, I love it. I have made friends with the other girls in training. It's been really nice.

My cousin, Matt got married yesterday night. I was happy that my grandparents got to watch the ceremony. We were worried that the heat would have gotten to them. The ceremony was quick (which was a plus), but they almost whispered their vows so no one could hear them. The wedding overall was boring. They had a traditional ceremony with a traditional reception afterwards. With the money they spent on the event, it was simple. Her dress though was awesome, the food was great, and they were happy...and...that's what matters. Hopefully, when I get married my guests will have a night to remember.

I am trying to move away from having three jobs. Yesterday, I gave my two weeks notice for Holy Trinity. I have been working there for six years. It's going to be odd not working there. I am not sure if I can keep working at the Tornadoes. I really do not like working 13 hour days. And the Tornadoes are violating MA law which requires the min wage to be $8.00. My sister and I just got our paychecks for $7.50.

Friday after work I am going to see my man for the weekend. :-)

I GOT THE JOB AT COMMERCE BANK! So far, every position I apply for I get. I will be paid considerably more than I get at any of my three current jobs. I also get full health, dental, vision, life-insurance, and 401K benefits. It's a full time customer service rep/teller position.

The family will also be moving to Shrewsbury to be closer to my grandparents. Mom and George already bought a house and we will be in it by September.

I attended the WSC graduation and walked across the stage. I am going to use my honor cords as curtain ties when I get my own place. The best part of the day was getting a hug from Dr. Oliver. Later, I went to Jen's party and had meatballs.

The semester is almost over and I am completing projects like nobody's business. Last week I put together a 30 slide power point in four hours and presented it that night with a great response. You know those commercials that come on during all the Judge and afternoon talk shows? The ones that encourage you to drop out of school and take up a profession..."Are you not doing what you want to do in life? Spending too much time on subjects that will not help you with being a dental hygienist?" I feel like one of those commercials. I don't want to aide in teeth cleaning. However, I am not satisfied with what I am currently working towards. My grad classes leave me with an empty feeling. I need to be challenged and inspired. Right now I am in academic wasteland. I don't want to work at Big Y anymore. I want to teach at the college level, I guess for now I am going to take the Teacher's Test and settle for High School.

Annoyances of the Moment:
Working at the Big Y
Living with my parents
The continued presence of Hillary in the race
Grad classes
The distance between Shane and I
Empty feelings
The Mean Reds
Not having a bed to sleep on
People who drive cars that resemble police cruisers

The Positives:
My Intelligence
The Gym
Friends
Shane <3
Having someone who loves me (see previous positive)
Keith Oberman
Not being homeless, yet
Not starving, yet
My family
My Car?

I hate, loathe, detest, abore, Worcester State College. I went to get my dipolma around 3:30 and they said they couldn't give it to me because there is a hold on my account. WTF!? When I signed up for grad classes I had to make sure that my undergrad was paid off, all fees etc. The system simply doesn't let you take grad classes until the undergrad is settled. GAHHHHHHHHHHH I called mom and we think they are still charging me undergrad fees because I graduated in December and it seems the word hasn't gotten out yet. I hate this retarded school and it's miserable beaucracy. They always loose the Finical Aide papers, they never charge us correctly. I also dislike my grad classes. I have no passion for them. The online class isn't helpful because I am not learning anything. The Tuesday class is simplistic. We learned the difference between qualitative and quantitative last class. If you don't know that difference by now you shouldn't be in grad school. And tonight's class is pointless, he is a really nice prof but all we do is watch power points and he gives us tips on how to make a powerpoint. I thought grad school would give me the opportunity to discuss intelligent concepts and meet new people. Worcester State sucks the passion out of the intelligent. That should be its new slogan.

I am seeing the results of working out. I did two miles on the treadmill yesterday at the gym. I have never done two miles before. I walk like 10 to 13 miles a day, I work, and move more. I feel hot. :-)

I almost killed an endangered hawk or falcon driving to Holy Trinity today. It was standing in the road on the highway off-ramp. Stupid raptor.

Not much else going on. Everything in my life is alright albeit, the school crap and I miss Shane so much it hurts.

I finished my 46 hour work week. The end result will be great tomorrow in my paycheck (I hope).

I kicked my workout routine into high gear. Go me.

Monday night, Dr. Cornell West lectured to a 1,100 plus crowd at Worcester State. Lauren, her friends, and I were forth row from the front. He is a brilliant lecturer, but the subjects discussed were generic. It was so cool to have someone important and famous come to Worcester State. After he lectured he opened up the floor for questions...well that's when the night turned slightly scary. Some of the questioners lined up next to my row. There was this white lady in line, who was dancing to her own music waiting for her turn.

Dr. West, "Is it okay if I limit the last questions to two more people?"

This white lady, "NO, IT IS NOT OKAY!"

West, "What do you need to say, mame?"

Lady, "You talk about the angels weeping for love, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. You talk about the angels weeping for love, you know what I mean!"

West, "I don't know what you mean, mamme"

Lady, "When you called out my mom in Rolling Stone , you know what I mean!"

West, "Mamme, I didn't call out any mother in Rolling Stone . "

This lady was almost on the stage when security escoted her away.

I have pictures from the night of West, but I can't find my cord that connects the camera to the computer. I think I need to buy a new one but I don't know what to buy. Someone help?

And wtf is with Cunton, I mean Clinton winning three states last night?! As Carl often says, "I'M PISSED!"

Hey kids, I got back from seeing Shane yesterday. We had our typical, wonderful time together, and I am happy. He can be an ass sometimes, and I can be a pain, but we go together. He comforts me and ignites passion. I wish I had the words to describe the extent to which I love Shane. My sentiments pale in comparison to how I feel.

Also yesterday, I got my Lauren, Chris, and me all got our new cars. However, we almost didn't because the dealership treated my grandpa like shit. They sealed the deal a week before and then yesterday they told him that they had made a mistake and the price was going to be more. And one of the managers actually told my grandpa if he didn't like the deal he could get the hell out. The man is buying three brand new cars and is on the verge of death, and that's way he is going to be treated? In the end, we got our way and the dealer honored the original deal. I desparately don't want my grandpa to die. I would give up having my own car for the rest of my life if he could stay around just a little longer. I feel guilty enjoying the car knowing that he wanted it to be one of his last gifts to us. I think he is really happy providing for the kids, my mom, and uncle. My grandma is going to be devestated when he leaves us. She has been his wife for 51 years and still signs all her checks with his name with added Mrs. in front. They have solid love. They raised a wonderful family. When he is gone the family will not be the same. It will be broken.
